Model and actor Hunter Schafer established herself as a DIVA favourite for her portrayal of Jules in HBO’s Euphoria. Since we were first introduced to her character, she’s gone on to star in films like The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes, Kinds Of Kindness, Cuckoo and Mother Mary. We are excited to see what roles she takes on in the future.
She’s one of the most well-known trans stars of our times and she’s used her platform to speak up for a wide range of social issues.
The Euphoria star has also certainly had an interesting dating life. Let’s dive in…
Rosalía (2019)
Back in 2024, Hunter confirmed that she and singer Rosalía dated back in 2019. She also shared that since splitting, she still views the star as “family”.
Addressing the long-running speculation surrounding their romance, Hunter confirmed she’d received Rosalía’s permission to share ahead of the interview: “Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, ‘It’s none of anybody’s fucking business!’” Sapphic fans celebrated the confirmation across social media. Shortly after this, they posted on the red carpet together at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.
Massima Desire (2020)
People have reported that Hunter was romantically linked to this fellow model in late 2020. They were often paired in photoshoots. While unconfirmed, they certainly looked good together.
Dominic Fike (2022-2023)
Hunter’s relationship with her Euphoria co-star is undoubtedly her most public one. Rumours were sparked when they were spotted holding hands in early 2022. Following this, the couple appeared to confirm their relationship when Dominic posted a photo of the two of them kissing to his Instagram story on 10 February 2022.
Fans of the couple were rocked when, in her 2024 interview on the Call Her Daddy Podcast, Hunter broke her silence on their breakup. She revealed that things had ended due to Dominic allegedly cheating on her.
During the podcast episode, she also opened up about the challenges of having a public relationship. “This is a straight guy who is in the music scene, too, and we’re in a public relationship. He’s dating a trans woman. He’s completely straight; he’s only dated cis women before. And he’s toting me around, happy to be my boyfriend in front of the world, and people are saying horrible, nasty shit because it’s like, ‘Oh, so he’s gay?’ He didn’t care at all. … I wasn’t anxious, but I was also head over heels in love and happy to be doing it.”
Have the two stars managed to find their way back to each other?
Earlier this month, it appeared that the two lovebirds may have rekindled their relationship. During a recent show, Dominic introduced his song, Great Pretender, saying he wrote it about his “girlfriend”. He added: “I used to not be able to say that.” The song has often been associated with Hunter by fans, and this intro sparked much speculation.
It’s important to note that Dominic did not name the woman he was referring to, so this is by no means an official confirmation that he is in a relationship with Hunter. She was, however, spotted at Fike’s concert on 27 August.
At the time of writing, eagle-eyed fans have since pointed out that the two stars no longer follow each other on social media.
Whether they are back together or not, Hunter certainly has a lot going for her. She’s part of the star-studded cast of Blade Runner 2099. We can’t wait to see what she gets up to next.
