In 2022, she told Vulture that she wants to be cast in a period piece: “I have a joke about this, but I’m completely serious: All I want is to have my little titties spilling out of a corset and illuminated by candlelight on-camera. And I’m not picky about the era or the role. I will play a noble, serf, town wench, anything.”
She’s been publicly dating Elliot Page since 2025
Last Pride month, Elliot Page posted a selfie of himself and Shiplett on a rainbow-painted street with the caption “🌈 💕.” Congratulations poured in. This relationship also marks the first one Elliot has publicly been in since coming out as transgender. Elliot wasn’t the only one to post; Julia reportedly posted a clip of Elliot in a hot spring and wrote: “Happy prideee 💦😮💨.”
Since then, the couple have made red carpet appearances and attended screenings together.
Julia commemorated Elliot’s birthday with this sweet Instagram post, captioned: “happy birthday E baby!! 🐟🩵🥳✨ how lucky I am to have such a sweet, patient, supportive boo thang who always wants to order fries. you’ve cracked my lil crone heart open and celebrating you is a breeze 💋”.
