The Euphoria star said that despite splitting romantically, she still views the DESPECHÁ singer as “family”

Euphoria star and queer icon Hunter Schafer has just revealed that she dated Spanish singer Rosalía for five months in a recent interview with GQ. The pair dated between the autumn and winter of 2019, a period where Hunter said there was “so much speculation” about their relationship.
Despite parting ways romantically, Hunter told GQ that the pair are still great friends, and even described the DESPECHÁ singer as being like “family”. The Hunger Games actor went on to say that she often has “beautiful friendships” with people that she once dated.
Addressing the speculation around their relationship, Hunter also said that she had asked Rosalía whether she could talk about their dating history prior to the interview with GQ. “Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, ‘It’s none of anybody’s fucking business!’” the star said.
However, ultimately Hunter stated that it was something she was “happy to share”.

Hunter announced that she was currently single but is still healing from her last breakup which was with fellow Euphoria castmate and singer Dominic Fike. “I want to make sure I’m good all the way before I jump into something else,” she said.
Also in the interview, Hunter spoke about being a trans actor in the industry, adding that she does feel a “sense of responsibility, and maybe a little bit of guilt, for not being more of a spokesperson”. However, she also stated that she does not want to make being trans the “centrepiece” of her career.
