London has launched its bid to host WorldPride 2032, coinciding with the city’s 60th anniversary of its first Pride March.

Taking place every two years, WorldPride is an international LGBTQIA+ event which is held in a city chosen for its values and commitment to LGBTQIA+ equality across the globe. The London WorldPride 2032 Bid Committee has invited artists, designers, photographers and pride communities to help shape the official visual identity of WorldPride 2032. If successful, London would become the first city to host WorldPride for a second time, having hosted it in 2012.

This bid brings together partners such as Pride in London, Outernet and UK Black Pride. TripAdvisor is the official travel partner of the London WorldPride 2032 Bid, with The Independent and The Standard as official news partners.

Dr Lady Phyll, co-founder of UK Black Pride and executive director of DIVA Charitable Trust, will serve as the co-chair for the bid. Speaking about this new bid, Lady Phyll said, “At a time when LGBTQIA+ communities across the world are facing increasing hostility, this bid is an opportunity for London to lead with courage, purpose and global solidarity.”

She continued, “WorldPride must never be just about spectacle. It must be about people, justice, belonging and creating lasting change. Sixty years after London’s first Pride march, we have a responsibility to honour those who came before us while building a future that is more representative, accessible and intersectional.”

The bid campaign has launched two interconnected initiatives. Creatives across the UK are invited to submit an original logo that captures the city’s diversity. The designer of the winning logo will receive a £3,000 prize, and it will be unveiled in October through an immersive installation across Outernet London’s world-famous digital screens. The bid has also invited members of the LGBTQIA+ community to submit photographs celebrating Pride, identity, allyship and belonging. This will be turned into a living mosaic to tell the story of Pride.

Rebecca Paisis, interim CEO of Pride in London, said, “We’re looking for bold, inspiring designs that capture London’s unique spirit and photographs that celebrate Pride in all its forms across the world. As we approach the 60th anniversary of London’s first Pride march, this project gives every generation an opportunity to leave their mark on what could become one of the defining moments in our movement’s history.”

Submissions for both the design competition and the photography campaign are now open. Entries close on 25 September 2026, and the winner will be announced in early October 2026. You can find out more here: prideinlondon.org/worldpride2032
