When Curry Barker’s horror film Obsession came out in 2025, audiences around the world fell in love with its star Inde Navarrette. Her past acting credits include Trap House’s Teresa Flores, Superman & Lois’ Sarah Cushing and 13 Reasons Why’s Estela de la Cruz. Outside of her impressive acting, fans admire her charm and humour. If you’re late to discovering this actor, buckle up, and get ready to be obsessed with her.
She’s a Pisces
Astrology queers will want to know that she was born on 3 March 2001. This makes her sun sign Pisces and her moon Gemini – no wonder she’s such a versatile actor!
Her birth name is different to her stage name
Her birth name is Danielle Fabiola Navarrette. She’s called Inde because she was an independent toddler, so her mum called her Inde for short. The nicknames continued throughout her life, with different relatives calling her different names.
She’s proudly bisexual
When discussing LGBTQIA+ storylines in 13 Reasons Why, she told Seventeen: “Being bisexual, I understand how much you could definitely keep it to yourself because it’s such a sticky subject. My family was exposed to it earlier on with my cousin coming out, it wasn’t that big of a deal. But I know for a fact that I have friends who are queer or lesbian or trans who are in ethnic communities where it’s a lot harder.”
The style icon is inspired by Bratz dolls
Inde is a certified style icon who has attended many fashion shows. Her passion for fashion originated with Bratz dolls.
She knew she wanted to be an actor at age 3
After watching Gladiator, Inde turned to her mum and announced “Mummy, I do.” Meaning, this was what she was going to do. It’s great to see her following through on her childhood dream.
Video gaming is another of Inde’s passions
Inde was previously a video game streamer who achieved viral success. LGBTQIA+ video game fans will love her streaming her experience playing The Last Of Us.
She’s joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe
MCU fans probably already know that Inde has been cast to play the iconic role in an untitled X-Men film. She’ll be joining Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink and Heartstopper’s Kit Connor in the film.
She hosted SNL’s Halloween episode this year
In her monologue, she proved she isn’t afraid to call out bad behaviour. Earlier in October, comedian Shane Gillis made a gym-wear joke as part of his SNL monologue. He said that women dress like “whores” at the gym. Since his monologue aired, many have called the comic out for misogyny, including Schitt’s Creek’s Dan Levy. During her monologue, Inde addressed how she’s joining Marvel and was hitting the gym to get into superhero shape wearing “a little whore outfit”
