If you haven’t heard of this hit new YA series, where have you been?! Amazon Prime’s Sterling Point has set the internet ablaze, and sapphic TikTok has been quick to make fan edits galore. Following hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty and Off Campus, it seems like Amazon Prime is vying to be crowned the Queen of YA.
But what do you need to know about the show? Here’s a quick rundown.

What is the plot of Sterling Point?
Created by Megan Park, Sterling Point follows city-girl Annie Jacobson, who is raised by her single dad in New York City. After her estranged grandfather’s death, Annie learns that she has inherited his island in Canada’s Muskoka Lakes. She heads out there to unlock secrets about her family, make new friends, and potentially catch the feels.
Who is starring in Sterling Point?
Ella Rubin, known for films like The Idea Of You and Anora, takes on the role of Annie. Sapphics will be pleased to meet Amélie Hoeferle in the role of Ramona, a young queer woman living on the island (and also Annie’s secret sister!). Bo Bragason plays Oona, another resident on the island and Ramona’s love interest. Keen-eyed DIVA readers will already remember Bo from BBC show The Jetty (you can read our interview with Bo here). Nikko Angelo Hinayo shines in the role of Sully. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie and Daniel Quinn-Toye also join the cast.
Does Sterling Point have queer storylines?
Yes! In fact, as reported by Out magazine, Megan Park said, “it just feels like queer representation just makes sense.” The series has quickly been picked up by sapphic audiences for its portrayal of young queer love. Many have praised the show for the way queerness is embedded into the characters, but not made a major plot point.
