On 29 August, Billie Eilish was performing an intimate show at London’s Electric Ballroom. The 1500-person capacity venue went wild as the singer brought out surprise special guests boygenius – the all-queer supergroup comprised of Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus – to join her onstage. She performed her fan favourite song When The Party’s Over with “the boys” and the moment has gone viral on social media causing a frenzy among sapphics around the world.

NME reported that the Billie asked the crowd to lower their phones when she was introducing boygenius as she wanted to witness their reactions when the three women came out on stage. “I’m in love with all three of them. Truly,” Billie said as she hugged Phoebe, Lucy and Julien before they headed off stage.

Suffice it to say, I have serious FOMO. However, I can’t lick my wounds too much as last week I got to experience boygenius’ phenomenal performance at Halifax’s Piece Hall. It was queer AF and an unforgettable experience. By the end of the night, it felt as if I had entered a queer hive mind and our collective love, joy and pain could be felt in the air.

Here’s how people are reacting to Billie and boygenius on X:
