Sapphics, we have been summoned. After announcing that Warrior Nun had been well and truly saved by the fan campaign #SaveWarriorNun, its producer Dean English has just revealed that it will be returning as a film trilogy.

Yes, that’s right. We’re going to see #Avatrice on the big screen. In three films!

After fans everywhere mourned the show’s cancellation by Netflix after two series, there was a strong feeling of protest in the air. Too many fan favourite LGBTQIA shows had fallen victim to the #CancelYourGays movement, and enough was enough. The fans were going to fight back.

Dean English released a video statement on 15 August revealing the exciting news. “I need to start by thanking all you loyal fans,” he began. “It’s because of you and your incredible energy that we keep pushing forward to make these stories. You guys really make it all worthwhile so thank you so much for your continued support.”

“I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures. Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.”

He continued: “One thing we need to touch on involves the strike in Hollywood involving actors and writers. And it’s due to that that we cannot make any announcements today on that front. Some may ask, ‘Does this perhaps infer that there’s going to be a universe being launched of Warrior Nun, which could expand into films and TV series following characters that we already know?’ The answer to that question is yes. And there will be more details in the future.”

It’s safe to say that the internet went wild…

Warrior Nun was not just saved, but it has been reborn. We can’t wait for more details!
