The highly anticipated second season of the Sex And The City (SATC) spin-off, And Just Like That… (AJLT) will be released this month, and in a move no one saw coming Kim Cattrall AKA Samantha Jones will be returning to the franchise for a quick cameo, as reported by Variety on Wednesday 31 May.
Variety reported that: “[Kim] will only appear in one scene. According to sources, Cattrall shot her dialogue on March 22 in New York City, without seeing or speaking with the stars of the series, including Sarah Jessica Parker, or with And Just Like That showrunner Michael Patrick King.”
“In the scene, Samantha, who in the show has moved to London, will have a phone conversation with Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw. In the first season of And Just Like That Carrie engaged with an estranged Samantha over text, and in the finale, the two made a plan to see each other in order to reconcile.”
Variety went on to report that “Cattrall’s appearance as Samantha will not be a continuation of the character for now.”
There has been a long-running feud between Kim and her SATC co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker. And fans of the franchise had reluctantly accepted that they wouldn’t be reunited with Samantha Jones. While this reunion shall be brief, Kim Cattrall fans will soak up every moment they get with the icon.
