Save the date, we’re in for some wholesome queer love

Ever since the Netflix adaptation of the beloved graphic novel series by Alice Oseman was announced last year, I have been obsessively checking the internet for updates on the show. Ever since reading the first volume, I’ve kept Nick, Charlie, Elle, Tara and Darcy close to my heart. There have been some extremely lacklustre adaptations of some of my favourite books, but with Alice writing the script and taking on the role of executive producer – the story is in the safest hands.

At the start of the month when the first look images were released there was no official release date yet. I am overjoyed to see that Heartstopper will be coming to our screens on 22 April. *Starts checking the days off my calendar*. To see us through, Netflix has released an a teaser trailer and more stills from the show.

Wholesome. Joyful. Ah-may-zing. I can’t wait to see how exploring the story through this new form enables us to see more from our two male leads but also their totally awesome friendship group. It looks shaped up to my new favourite show. And the casting is top tier. I audibly gasped when I saw Tori’s signature exaggerated sip,Tao’s goofy sarcasm and Tara and Darcy’s cheeky glances at each other.

It’s. Just. 37. Days. Away. We. Can. Do. This.

I mean just LOOK at them! LOOK AT THEM! 😍
