You saucy self-isolators are keeping the sex toy industry ALIVE

The loo roll supply is very low in local supermarkets everywhere right now, but it seems sex toys are even higher in demand!
Sex toy sales are on the rise amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and statistics from Womanizer have shown that amidst panic buying tinned goods, loo roll and frozen vegetables, sex toys have not been left behind. UK sales have increased by 13%, whilst globally Canada has seen a 135% increase, and Italy shows increases of up to 71%.
Commenting on the global surge in sex toys, leading men’s wellness platform Manual said:
“Dating and coronavirus are not a compatible pair, so singles are driving their attention away from dating apps and more towards how they can pleasure themselves in this time of self-isolation.”
“Currently people around the world are attempting to limit their exposure to others, which includes time away from dating and meeting new love interests. We all have sexual needs and, naturally, people are going to find a way to pleasure themselves if they’re not in a relationship.”
“Similar to the winter months, or during a black out, romantic partners often use sex as their favourite way to pass the time. For those singles out there that still want to experience sexual pleasure in this of social distancing, sex toys could be the answer.”
One of the biggest acts of sex toy solidarity we’ve seen over the past few days has been from female-led sex toy brand Naked Grapefruit, who have been running all over London to deliver the goods. They’ve even been taking requests for extra bits from the shop, so not too worry if that Diet Coke craving is just as high as your sex drive, they’ve got you covered.
It’s great to see so many people coming together (pardon the pun) and supporting the sex toy industry in such a huge way during these frightening times.
