Series three is coming way sooner than we thought!

None of us were ready for the bombshell that dropped last Friday. Killing Eve is coming back to our screens for a third season, and it’s coming in April. That’s right, April.
Dropping a new teaser trailer on Valentine’s Day, they had us all riled up -this show is the ultimate queer tease.
As ever with Killing Eve, us UK based fans have to wait a bit longer for the show to arrive on BBC iPlayer. Can’t bear to wait? We don’t blame you at all.
Killing Eve follows Eve Polastri, an MI6 office worker played by Sandra Oh, who becomes obsessed with the search for an international assassin called Villanelle.
The spy thriller series – based on the Villanelle novels by Luke Jennings – has been a huge success thanks to the razor-sharp performances from Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer and the cat and mouse chase has been a huge hit with LGBTQI audiences.
Just to taunt us a little bit more, BBC America dropped the below teaser trailer in time for Valentine’s Day. Are they hinting at a love story for series three?
The show has been criticised for its “queer-baiting” approach to the relationship between Villanelle and Eve. Some fans of the award-winning show were outraged after Sandra Oh suggested the show isn’t as queer as all the marketing suggests, even though the show itself oozes lesbian tension.
In the first season, Eve says to Villanelle, “I think about you all the time. I think about what you’re wearing, and what you’re doing, and who you’re doing it with. I think about the friends you have, I think about what you eat before you go to work, and what shampoo you have, and what happened in your family. I think about your eyes and your mouth, and what you feel when you kill someone, I think about what you have for breakfast. I just want to know everything.”
If that’s not queer, I don’t know what is. But fear not! Villanelle does marry a woman in series three, although sadly it won’t be Eve. Let’s all just keep dreaming.
