If you’re looking for a place to work hard and play hard, then look no further…

The Arches is a brand new bar based in Bethnal Green, London. It’s tucked away under six Victorian railway arches which means there’s loads of space to accommodate the electric atmosphere and crazy cool interior.

The venue is filled with neon lights, mirrored walls, raw brick exteriors and original car-wash installations. The “Bubbles” car wash previously stood there and it was such a great idea to keep it  – it gives off such a unique and enchanting vibe.

It’s a neon playground full of lights and colour, providing you with the perfect backdrop for your Instagram posts.

Now, this isn’t specifically a queer bar, but The Arches champion locally sourced products along with inclusivity and diversity.

By day they serve specialty Caravan coffee, and by night they serve signature cocktails and beer.

The Arches umbrella includes 640East, Taproom by Bethnal Green and DropYard.

Taproom is the place for all your queer beer needs. There’s over 24 locally sourced craft beers to choose from and weekly pub quizzes.

Drop Yard is a huge space available for hosting events. You could even host your own queer film night, comedy show or DJ set.

Or if you just need a space to work and enjoy a coffee, 640East is the place to be during the day. There’s accessible plug points all over the room and it’s a great co-working space.

The Arches plan on hosting film nights, music events and spoken word poetry. They’ve already hosted one LGBTQI themed evening so we’re sure there’s more to come.

They are proud to be independent, open minded, and a little different in the best way possible.

What makes up The Arches? 🚇 We will start with @640east ☕️🍻 The story began with two containers, measuring a total of 640 sq ft and located in East London. 🏙 Offering specialty coffee by day, beer by night, and food for thought. Proud to be independent, open minded, and a little different in the best way possible. 😎 All of this influences the way and passion with which they serve their customers, design their spaces, and communicate with their surrounding community. 💪 Such an integral part of The Arches 🙌 . . . . #640east #AtTheArches #independent #640sqft #eastlondon #bethnalgreen #canarywharf #hayes #bristol #shippingcontainer #conversion #coffee #specialtycoffee #beer #craftbeer #openminded #railwayarch #arches #customers #londoncafe #londoncoffee #visitlondon #londoner #london #timeout #caffeinemag #beastmag #secretlondon #baristadaily

East London is where the cool, trendy and edgy collide to create a quirky and inclusive space. The Glory and Dalston Superstore (some big queer venues) aren’t too far away either, so why not make this your pre-drink destination before heading out with your mates to dance the night away?

Follow their Instagram @atthearches and look out for any upcoming queer events, or drag your pals along for your own! We promise you’re gonna love it.
