The new, fully funded project is designed to support schools in starting their journey towards being fully LGBT+ inclusive
Diversity Role Models (DRM), the UK charity working to eliminate homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying in UK schools, have today announced their success in being awarded funding from the Government Equalities Office (GEO) Anti-Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic (HBT) Bullying Fund.
DRM are one of just six organisations being awarded funding for their project, with the aim of supporting them until 31 March 2020.
As part of the delivery of the government’s LGBT Action Plan, Diversity Role Models’ will work with staff at 100 schools – in the west midlands, greater London and the south east – who are committed to starting their journey to become an LGBT+ inclusive.

Now in their eighth year of working with schools to “end bullying by embracing difference,” DRM’s sole charitable mission is to create an education system in which every young person will know they are “valued and supported, whoever they are.”
“We’re very proud to be recipients of this grant and to work alongside the GEO and five other great organisations to improve the lives of young people,” Adam McCann, Chief Executive Officer of Diversity Role Models, commented.
“Our project will provide senior leadership teams and staff with the knowledge and confidence to better understand LGBT+ diversity and create safe spaces where every pupil will feel accepted and supported.”
