Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon has been named as “Reverend-for-the-Day” at Bride Pride 2027. The event is described as the “World’s Largest All-Girl Wedding & Renewal Ceremony.”
Bride Pride’s website states that if 100 couples choose to get married or have a renewal ceremony, they could qualify for entry in the Guinness Book of World Records. “Imagine standing beside hundreds of women simultaneously declaring their never-ending love for one another beneath the stunning February skies of sunny St. Pete,” the website reads.
The event will take place on 21 February 2027 during Winter Pride St. Pete. The wedding will be held in the Grand Central District of St Petersburg, Florida. And yes, Cynthia Nixon will be legally marrying couples.
Earlier this year, Cynthia celebrated her own 14th wedding anniversary with her wife Christine Marinoni. Writing on Instagram, the star said: “My wife Christine and I have been together for 22 years but today is our 14th wedding anniversary. Falling in love with Christine was the best thing I ever did (next to having our children). To celebrate our anniversary here are some photos of Aunt Ada falling in love with some lovely butch woman who managed to wander into The Gilded Age.”
Bride Pride was started when Ilene Mitnick and Alli Baldwin decided they wanted to renew their vows during Women’s Week. However, instead of having an intimate affair, the pair decided they wanted to extend the invite. From there, Bride Pride was born.
“Bride Pride has always been about more than a wedding to us,” Ilene and Alli write on their website. “It’s about visibility. Celebration. Community. It’s about creating space for people to stand fully in love and be surrounded by others doing the exact same thing.”
Cynthia is best known for her roles in Sex And The City, And Just Like That…, The Gilded Age and Ratched.
