Here’s everything we know so far

Stay calm! This is not a drill. Nearly 17 years after the 2009 hit film Jennifer’s Body was released, we finally have an update about its highly anticipated sequel. A listing on the industry website Production Weekly seems to indicate that filming for Jennifer’s Body 2 will begin in October (spooky season!) this year, with director Karyn Kusama and writer Diablo Cody back at the helm.
A sexual awakening for many sapphics, the original Jennifer’s Body starred Megan Fox as a demonic succubus with a taste for her male classmates. It’s up to her nerdy best friend Needy, played by Amanda Seyfried, to uncover the truth and stop her killing spree. The film has touched the hearts of many LGBTQIA+ people for its portrayal of bisexuality.
While the news hasn’t been confirmed by 20th Century Studios, horror news outlet Dread Central reported that Megan Fox would be returning as her iconic character, Jennifer. This bisexual star seems to be encapsulating the character with her recent Instagram posts, captioning them, “I go both ways” and “men would have them believe disobedience was eve’s vice, when it was her greatest virtue.” One fan commented, “JENNIFER IS BACK 😍😍😍😍”
In an interview with Bloody Disgusting in 2024, Diablo said, “Yes! I wanna do a sequel. I’m not done with Jennifer’s Body yet.”
During a Variety Actors On Actors interview with Adam Brody, who also starred in the OG cult classic film, Amanda spoke openly about the possibility of a sequel. “We’re making another [“Jennifer’s Body”]. Are you going to do it?” she asked. She went on to say, “I’m not doing it without [Megan].”
It’s safe to say that we’re excited. No further updates have been made at the time of writing.
