On last night’s episode of Coronation Street, the beloved couple Carla Connor and Lisa Swain – named #Swarla by fans – finally tied the knot. Despite many obstacles and dramas, the two women managed to happily tie the knot. This episode aired during this year’s Lesbian Visibility Week, making it feel even more fateful and impactful.

While the soap is gearing up to start its murder mystery storyline, it was great to see Swarla’s love celebrated beforehand. The newlywed’s honeymoon will be short-lived when said storyline takes place. Lisa’s daughter, Betsy, screamed during the wedding; her scream was mistaken by Swarla as a fox, but it was actually Betsy discovering a dead body.
