Amazon Prime’s Yellowjackets has devastated fans by announcing that series three will not be released until 2025. Following the SAG-AFTRA strike last year, production on the teen thriller was delayed.

Flitting between the past and present, Yellowjackets follows a girl’s soccer team who have to survive the wilderness after their plane crashes. From cannibalism to sapphic storylines, the show has gained a cult following who are all anticipating its suspenseful and dramatic return.

The show has gained 10 Emmy nominations since the first series aired in 2021. Queer icons like Jasmin Savoy Brown have meant that Yellowjackets has become a safe space for LGBTQIA audiences at home.

Let’s just say that the fans weren’t too thrilled about having to wait till 2025 for series three…

“Creating a plan of how to stay alive till 2025 so I can watch Yellowjackets S3,” another fan wrote.

One said: “Yellowjackets isn’t coming back until 2025… at this rate someone in this fandom is definitely getting cannibalised before then.”

If you’re also missing watching your favourite cannibal teens, you can rewatch series one and two of Yellowjackets on Amazon Prime.
