Kate McKinnon is a comedian and actor known for her time on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and for starring in films such as Office Christmas Party, Ghostbusters and Barbie. After all these years of fame, she’s as popular and iconic as ever. Many of our readers are #obsessed with Kate. But did you know these five facts about the star?
Kate was the first openly gay cast member of SNL
She joined the cast of SNL in 2012, essentially laying the rainbow-brick road for fellow comedians like Punkie Johnson, Bowen Yang, and most recently, Molly Kearney. She also received an Emmy nomination for Best Actress, Comedy, only two years after joining the troupe. Thank you, Kate.
She was a vegan for a few years
Not only this, Kate was a runner up for PETA’s Sexiest Vegan contest in 2017. However she eventually realised how much she missed regular pizza-cheese and decided to call it quits. Sounds like a true New Yorker.

As well as her impressive array of accents and impersonations the celesbian is also multilingual. She can speak English, French and German.
Kate’s partner is Jackie Abbott
