From Lizzo to Måneskin, here is all the LGBTQIA goodness from Glasto

Glasto is well and truly back. Last weekend saw the return of the biggest artists in the music industry onto their rightful stage with the likes of Lana Del Ray, Elton John, and Lizzo performing.

And seeing as it was slap-bang in the middle of Pride Month this year, it seemed only fair that it was jam-packed full of LGBTQIA goodness.

Lizzo: “Happy Pride, b*tch!”

The About Damn Time singer has done nothing but show her allyship this Pride Month. After donating to the Marsha P. Johnson organisation earlier this month, Lizzo appeared on stage waving a Pride flag and screamed “Happy Pride, b*tch!”

Becky Hill pays tribute to the queer people that created dance music

“Back in the clubs of Chicago by the Black queer community like Candi Staton, Frankie Knuckles, Jamie Principle, Sylvester – this is my ode to them.”

The incredible queer artist followed this moving tribute by singing Candi Staton’s 1991 hit You Got the Love.

“Glastonbury it’s time to get a little bit camp,” Becky screamed at the crowd. “Are you ready to get a little bit camp?”

Becky, you know we’re always ready.

Playing You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) by Sylvester, you can probably guess that the whole crowd was on their feet.

Rina Sawayama calls out Matty Healy

The breakout bisexual star took to the infamous stage this year with a very clear message. Before performing her song STFU, Rina called out the frontman of the indie rock band The 1975 Matty Healy. In relation to a number of microaggressions Matty has made, Rina said: “Tonight, this goes out to a white man that watches Ghetto Gaggers, and mocks Asian people on a podcast… he also owns my masters… I’ve had enough.”

Shygirl’s mesmerising set

The dazzling queer artist captivated the crowd this year at Glastonbury with her amazing performance. Calling out to the crowd “Are you ready to moan with me?” Shygirl blew us away this year. Did we mention that Cate Blanchett was also literally watching her set from the side of the stage?!

Måneskin’s steamy performance

We have been in love with the Italian rock group Måneskin’s bassist Victoria De Angelis ever since she stepped foot on the Eurovision stage in 2021. Victoria has been openly bisexual throughout her career in the band, and looked amazing in thigh high leather boots and a blue mini dress on the Glastonbury stage. Forget the heatwave, we think the rise in temperature might have come from Måneskin’s performance.

The crowd singing to Cat Burns

We felt like a proud parent watching Cat Burns take to the Glasto stage just one year after her song Go went viral on TikTok. With the whole crowd singing back every lyric, we are so happy to see Cat get the recognition she deserves.
