Diversity Role Models is a volunteer led charity that relies on funding from individuals and organisations to fulfil their mission of helping to build an education system where all young people feel safe to be who they are. Since they were first established in 2011, the charity has been committed to eliminating homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in UK schools. They work towards this not only by hosting workshops where LGBTQIA people and allies share their experiences in schools, but also by providing training to school staff and govenors.
This June, the charity is hosting a Summer Soirée to raise £50,000 to achieve their goal of supporting 50 schools across the UK for free. As many schools do lack the funding to have these workshops, raising the money to make them more accessbile will have an incredible impact.
The event takes place on 22 June at 6:30pm on the rooftop of Deliveroo’s River Building. There will be spotlight speeches from DIVA’s publisher, Linda Riley, and the treasure that is Dame Kelly Holmes – as well as music, entertainment, drinks, food and a stunning view – all included in the ticket price!
So, if you’re interested in supporting an important cause whilst having a great time this summer, get yourself a ticket now.
