The duo’s tango on Saturday night was filled with sapphic drama and we can’t wait to see more

In their debut performance of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, comedian Jayde Adams and her professional dance partner Karen Hauer wowed audiences to the sounds of Christina Aguilera’s Dirty. But with this season’s first results show occurring on Sunday (2 October), the pressure was on for all the couples to impress the judges and viewers on Saturday night’s live show (1 October).

And my oh my, Jayde and Karen aka Team #LetsGoGirls did just that. The couple danced a Tango to Adele’s Rumour Has It, which was wonderfully fitting for Jayde who used to be an Adele drag act. The comedian wrote on Instagram: “Strictly, Adele, Tango. It’s the Jayde Adams holy Trinity. Watch out for the plague of locus’ tomorrow.”

In their tango, Jayde and Karen play lovers wrapped up in an intense affair, and it served up plenty of sapphic drama. The duo depicted a turbulent relationship through dance which resulted in Karen’s character walking away from Jayde’s with a dramatic stride.

Jayde and Karen’s received a 10 from me watching at home and a total score of 26 from the judges. And the couple have safely made it through to next week, which is movie week, and their film will be Flashdance, which starred The L Word’s Jennifer Beals.

Team DIVA were already big fans of this partnership from day one, but Saturday’s performance really blew us all away and Jayde and Karen have certainly danced their way into our hearts.
