The princess of pop and queen of disco is bringing her magic to Live and Proud

Sydney WorldPride (SWP) is the highly anticipated 17-day celebration taking place between 17 February and 5 March 2023, and with over 300 events taking place across the city there’s a lot to look forward to. Today the good news came in that pop royalty Kylie Minogue has been confirmed as the headlining act for the Live And Proud: Sydney WorldPride Opening Concert which takes places at The Domain on Friday 24 February 2023.

On the news, Kylie has said: “For the first time ever, WorldPride is coming to the Southern Hemisphere. YES! I’m so excited to announce that I will be performing at the opening concert in Sydney on 24 February, 2023 at The Domain. Can’t wait to see you there!”

Kylie’s set has been created especially for the event, and it will be a glorious celebration of the first time SWP has been hosted in the Southern Hemisphere and 45 years of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Live and Proud will be hosted by Casey Donovan and Courtney Act and broadcast live around the nation on ABC TV. SWP will be announcing further Live and Proud acts later on this year.

SWP’s CEO Kate Wickett has said: “Kylie is not only a beloved musician and rainbow icon, but the highest selling Australian-born solo artist of all time.”

“We are honoured and INCREDIBLY excited to have Kylie again stand with our community at Sydney WorldPride 2023 – the global rainbow family reunion we’ve been waiting for.”
