Love a midweek plan? Look no further! Your Sexts Are Shit: Older Better Letters, fresh from Rachel Mars, is showing at Soho Theatre from 14-18 June. Hailed as a show “dripping with desire” by the likes of The Guardian, Ed Fest Mag, List and more, this performance digs deep into contemporary queer kink. The best bit? DIVA is offering £10 tickets! Use the code DIVA10 to access this discount on all performances.
Before sexts there were hand-written letters. And loads of them were proper filthy. With the help of the internet, friends and two sexologists, award winning theatre maker Rachel Mars has unearthed missives dating back centuries. Triangulating these sex and love letters of long dead artists with contemporary sexts and a meditation on the construction of the queer female body, the show is a tender and surprising hour that asks – how do we write ourselves and for whom?
Come! Take pleasure in James Joyce’s passion for arse, find out who sneaked her gay lover into the White House, hear from Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, Mozart and bear witness to the best/worst sexts ever sent.
The performance will be BSL interpreted by Sue MacLaine on Friday 17 June at 7:30pm. Tickets start from £14.50 and are available via the Soho Theatre website at sohotheatre.com. To keep up with Soho Theatre, follow them on Twitter and Instagram.
