In a bittersweet moment the final episodes of Grace And Frankie are airing at the end of the month. Over the course of the seasons, the show has followed the two women on the series of events that occur after their husbands come out as gay, having fallen in love with each other. The plot follows them grow from rivals to best friends and eventually business partners. It has been a joy to watch the two 9 To Five actors work together again with Frankie being played by lesbian icon Lily Tomlin and Grace by trailblazing activist Jane Fonda. Over the course of the show, they’ve served up some much needed visibility of older women on screen and have gone on to show that women in their 80s can be just as flirty and thriving as those in their 30s.
In honour of the series coming to an end, let’s look back on some of their iconic moments.
Literally every time Frankie said something whimsical
That time Grace showed off her cooking skills
Every single joke about age
RuPaul’s iconic cameo
Making a wish on one of Grace’s chin hairs
Their refusal to live up to expectations of being grandmas
The highs and lows of inventing a toilet
The time Frankie convinced Grace to go to a retreat
Launching their inclusive sex toys
The time they protested pedestrian crossing times in style
Every time Frankie serves up a witty one-liner (every episode)
The exploration of their love lives after divorce
And of course, the growth of their beautiful friendship which is at the heart of the show
The final episodes of Grace And Frankie are available to stream on Netflix from 29 April.
