Great news, DIVAs! The Rainbow Honours 2022 has announced The Bank of London as its headline sponsor, with the event taking place at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London on Wednesday 1 June 2022. The awards pay tribute to groups, institutions, charities, businesses and individuals who dedicate themselves to improving LGBTQI equality and inclusion in different sectors of society.
In 2019, the inaugural Rainbow Honours were hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race US star Courtney Act, and this year, the event will be hosted by none other than the amazing Victoria Scone of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 3. It’s sure to be a night of celebrating heroes, sheroes and queeroes to remember!
The Bank of London Rainbow Honours exist so that the incredible people and organisations who are prepared to put themselves out there, devoting time and effort to make a difference in the struggle for fairness, can be recognised and celebrated for the invaluable work they’re doing in fighting prejudice against the LGBTQI community. Despite the strides we’ve made, there is still much work to be done and we must pay tribute to those still fighting. Nominations close on 17 March so make sure to get them in soon.
Some 2019 winners include Sue Perkins in the LGBTQ Icon category and Sadiq Khan in the Celebrity Ally category. This year’s categories include:
OUTSTANDING LGBTQI NETWORK GROUP
CORPORATE LGBTQI CHAMPION
INSPIRATIONAL ROLE MODEL
DIVA magazine celebrates 27 years in print in 2021. If you like what we do, then get behind LGBTQI media and keep us going for another generation. Your support is invaluable.
