Motherland: Fort Salem is a TV show that came along and captured the hearts of LGBTQI viewers around the world. This supernatural drama features an almost exclusively female cast and is full of classic queer themes such as witchcraft and resistance. Best of all, a WLW central romance between Scylla (Amalia Holm) and Raelle (Taylor Hickson). It’s deservedly received a devoted fandom, The Switches, who spearheaded the campaign to #SaveMotherlandFortSalem from cancellation and funded billboards where they proudly display their #Raylla fan art.

Here’s your sneak peek of what Amalia Holm had to say about the power of Raylla:

Why she thinks fans root for Raylla so much…

“There’s a dynamic there that people are enjoying. These two people are finding a new sense of meaning for life together in love.”

The chemistry

“The thing is, I don’t think I’ve ever felt this natural chemistry, as I have with Taylor, on any love relationship I’ve done onscreen.”

The #SaveMotherlandFortSalem campaign…

“We’re just grateful. I really hope they succeed with their goal so we can do more of this, because it’s a story that I love doing.”
