Part of #LesbianVisibilityWeek, DIVA’s Development Day event aims to inspire lez/bi women to achieve their dream careers…
BY DIVA STAFF
Recognised as a brand that raises the voices of, and provides support to LGBTQI women across all aspects of their lives, DIVA Media Group – DIVA magazine‘s big sister – felt creating a Women At Work-inspired Development Day was a natural fit.
For the one-day event, we’ve partnered with trailblazing and inspirational experts in the field to bring you, the lez/bi community, an opportunity to network with one another, gain invaluable skills and make tangible plans for your career. This will be a day that inspires, guides and equips – all within a supportive, LGBTQI-focused environment.

WOMEN ON TOP
The challenges women often face in progressing their careers are well documented. We might have come a long way in the last decade or two, but we are acutely aware that alongside that progress, some groups of women are still frequently left behind or under supported.
One of those groups is LGBTQI women.
In order to really thrive, navigating the landscape and politics of work needs to be carefully balanced with building an authentic brand and skillsets and that is why we’re we’ve created the WAW Development Day as part of Lesbian Visibility Week 2020.
Sessions planned for the DIVA Women At Work Development Day include (but aren’t limited to):
💼 Developing My Leadership
💼 Understanding Your Strengths
💼 Driving Your Career: Aspirations & Applications
The event will feature incredible speakers, panels and practical workshops aiming to provide skills development and toolkits to take away and utilise out in the real world of work today.
DIVA will also share the results of the biggest ever survey into the views of LGBTQI women, with sections on work, lifestyle and wellbeing.
So far, confirmed speakers at the event include broadcast journalist Jane Hill and activist and Liberal Democrat peer Baroness Liz Barker. The DIVA Women At Work Development Day will take place Tuesday 21 April 2020 at etc.venues, Prospero House, Borough High Street, London, SE1. For more, visit lesbianvisibilityweek.com
