Celebrate akt’s 30th birthday with queer party legends Sink The Pink
BY ALICIA PRYZSIENIAK
Celebrating 30 years of safer homes and better futures for LGBTQI youth, akt, the UK’s LGBTQI youth homelessness charity, are back with their biggest event yet!
Produced by drag royalty Sink The Pink and hosted at the incredible TROXY venue in London, this 80’s-themed (post-gala dinner) extravaganza will not disappoint…
Ryland and Jayde Adams will start the night off right with an incredible 80’s-themed gala, later joined by DJ John Sizzle and auctioneer Ed Rising, for a super fun, quiz-style auction to raise funds for akt.
As attendees dance on through the night, they’ll be treated to some of the best, queer performers on the circuit with performances from the likes of cabaret stars Bourgeoise and Maurice, TV star and platinum-selling artist Tulisa and DJ-come-hostess Princess Julia.
Best of all, all funds raised on the night will help akt in their mission to support struggling young LGBTQI people living in the UK. Whether they’re facing homelessness or already experiencing it, the funds earned from this night and the funds raised could change lives forever.
Since being founded in 1989, nearly 6,000 bed-nights have been provided to young LGBTQI people who have nowhere to go. Their digital work has allowed akt to support a further 2,000 through live chat, mentoring services and signposting, making this 30th birthday one to really celebrate.
Looking for a night to support your community? Then this is the night for you.
akt’s 30th birthday event will take place on Thursday 17 October 2019 at TROXY, London. Tickets available to the party at akt.org.uk/party. For tickets to the full evening, including sit-down dinner, head over to akt.org.uk/gala.
