Today marks the start of Ace Week, an annual celebration that amplifies the stories, experiences and struggles of the ace community. If you want to learn more about this awareness period, stick around!

When is Ace Week?

Ace Week takes place 25–31 October every year.

What is Ace Week?

Ace Week is an awareness period that places the asexual community in the spotlight. Around the world, people share educational resources, their own stories and experiences, as well as data and research about the ace community.

How did Ace Week start?

Originally established as Asexual Awareness Week, Ace Week was founded by Sara Beth Brooks in 2010 with the help of AVEN founder David Jay. By 2011, Ace Week had a 20-person committee, and there were events taking place around the world.

What can I do to celebrate Ace Week?

You can head over to the Ace Week website to see what events are taking place. In your own time, you can also follow asexual influencers and activists like Yasmin Benoit to learn more about the ace community. If you’re looking for a film to watch, why not check out Marija Kavtaradzė’s Slow or Ashley MacKenzie’s Queens Of The Qing Dynasty?
