Celebrate LVW from 20-26 April with these sapphic forms of media

Lesbian Visibility Week has arrived, and if you’re looking for an alternative away from the on-screen media of film and TV, we’ve got you covered.

From books to podcasts, we’ve curated a list of the best queer forms of off-screen media that reflect unique lesbian experiences, so you can make the most out of your Lesbian Visibility Week!

Podcast: Saving Grace – Episode 77

GK Barry’s 77th episode of her podcast, Saving Grace, sees the online extraordinaire open up about her first gay experience. Being GK’s first solo episode of her pod, she tells the messy and personal story hilariously, and it’s bound to leave you in hysterics. Be warned if you choose to listen in public, because you’ll be laughing to yourself like a maniac!

Book: What A Girl Wants: A (True) Story of Sexuality and Self-Discovery by Roxy Bourdillon

DIVA’s very own Editor-In-Chief, Roxy Bourdillon, dropped her first memoir during last year’s LVW. What feels like reading the chatterings of a friend, Roxy’s story of sapphic self-discovery is hilarious, heart-warming and also heartbreaking. We might seem biased with this one, but What A Girl Wants is truly an essential for any lesbian coming into their own, or equally anyone who feels completely self-assured.

Event: Heavy Petting: Literary Lesbians And Their Cats

If you’re a cat-loving lesbian Londoner, Queer Britain, based in King’s Cross, is hosting an illustrated talk with literary and culture expert, Dr Hannah Roche. Specifically for LVW, the talk at Britain’s first dedicated LGBTQIA+ museum will focus on the “queer domestic cats” that shape lesbian lives, homes and books. The event will take place on Saturday 26 April, and more details are available here.

Album: How To Be Human by Cat Burns

Celebrity Traitors star and musical phenomenon Cat Burns dropped her second album last year, but it hasn’t left our rotation since. Drawing on the sounds of R&B and pop, How To Be Human draws on Cat’s experience as a neurodivergent queer woman, and each song is a banger. We’re obsessed with Cat’s adorable relationship with influencer Sarah New, and we’re hoping for new music in 2026!

Zine: Chapstick Magazine

Chapstick Magazine is an American independent print and digital zine, and its three issues are available to view online, for free, no matter where you may be. With stunning visuals, fascinating lesbian stories, and rich sapphic history detailed inside, Chapstick is bound to be your new obsession. With the slogan “for lesbians, by lesbians,” Chapstick has built a strong community, so why not be a part of it? Follow them on Instagram to keep updated here, and find the digital zine here.

Song: Runway by Doechii and Lady Gaga

Queer icon Doechii dropped her latest track, Runway, with Lady Gaga last week, for the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada 2 movie. The bop draws on ballroom-inspired lyricism, and if you want to “serve a little sass with a little side of ass” this LVW, Doechii’s got you covered.

Podcast: Two Twos Podcast

The Two Twos Podcast draws on the musings of two black lesbian Londoners, Ro Frimpong and Nana Duncan. Packed full of charisma and energy, the duo aim to create safe spaces for Black LGBTQIA+ discussions to take place and to bridge the gap between the community and cis heterosexuals. Although they’re currently on a hiatus, there are 217 episodes available on Spotify for you to binge!

Book: Ordinary Saints by Niamh Ní Mhaoileoin.

Niamh Ní Mhaoileoin’s heartfelt debut, Ordinary Saints, follows the life of Irish lesbian Jay and her discovery that her dead brother may be turned into a Catholic Saint. The story navigates grief, love and identity whilst remaining deeply queer. It was shortlisted for Waterstone’s Debut Fiction prize back in 2025, making it a guaranteed page turner.

Radio: Nat Evans’ Early Breakfast Show on Gaydio

Bounce out of bed this Lesbian Visibility Week with sapphic anthems to kick start your day, as every morning, Nat Evans will spin the queerest tracks live on Gaydio. Expect tunes from queer icons such as Dannii Minogue, Lola Young and JADE, all spun by lesbian DJ Evans. Ask your smart speaker to “play Gaydio” or go to gaydio.co.uk on your computer.
