There’s no better way to start the day…

Morning sex is amazing, but it can feel difficult to spice things up and find variation.

I’m Sofie Roos, a licensed sexologist and relationship therapist, as well as author at Swedish sex and relationship magazine Passionerad. In this article, I will give my best advice to you DIVAs who want to make morning sex as hot and pleasurable as possible.

Try to set an alarm

To wake up by an alarm 30 minutes earlier to have sex can feel too forced for some. For others, it works extremely well. My tip is to find out by giving it a shot.

Set the atmosphere

Light some candles, put on some background music and open a window for a bit of fresh air. Spending some time on creating a relaxing, sexy and intimate atmosphere not only increases the chances of you actually getting in the mood, but also sets you off to a slow and calm start where you ease into the sex. This is perfect for people who’re very tired in the morning.

Let’s talk morning breath

Getting up to brush your teeth can easily kill the vibe, so my best advice is to just embrace that you won’t taste like peppermint. And since both just woke up, you will most likely not find it so bad!

Blend sex into the morning shower

Many people shower in the morning, and if that’s you, then make sure to take those showers together. It’s not only an intimate routine, but also the perfect moment for sex if it feels right.

Wake your partner with intimacy

Waking your partner with kisses, stimulating their breasts or even giving oral is the best way to start the day, for both of you! As long as there is, of course, consent.

You need to talk about this beforehand and get consent. Also specify and set boundaries. For example, being woken up with kisses might feel good, while being woken up to anything more than that might not.

It’s okay to be lazy

Most people are slow in the morning, so don’t put pressure on yourself for the morning sex to be the wildest ever. Slow down and take it easy instead.

You can have unexpectedly passionate sex by not rushing, and by letting things take time, which also makes it easier to build up emotional intimacy. So try spooning or the 69 positions for a great time.

Have aftercare in the bed

Let the aftercare blend into the rest of a cosy morning together with breakfast in bed or cuddling in front of your favourite TV show with a cup of coffee. Simply lying down in bed and snoozing after sex with an open window is also out of this world amazing!
