Our findings will help shape organisational strategies, resources, and policies to better support LGBTQIA families

As part of this year’s Lesbian Visibility Week (LVW), we want to better understand the experience of LGBTQIA individuals as parents. In order to push forward research, education, and advocacy supporting LGBTQIA families, we want to amplify the voices of our community on this topic. That’s why this year’s DIVA Survey in partnership with Kantar, the people behind the world’s first Inclusion Index, is all about the perspectives of parents raising LGBTQIA children and how intersectionality shapes this.

Within this survey, we are asking some key research questions. What are the unique experiences and challenges of LGBTQIA parents? How do parents navigate raising children who identify as LGBTQIA? In what ways do factors such as race, ethnicity, socio-economic background, or disability intersect with LGBTQIA parenting experiences?

All information will be anonymised to protect your identity. Your answers will also be reported in aggregate form in our findings. In participating in this survey, you will be helping to shape organisational strategies, resources, and policies to better support LGBTQIA families.

This survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Your participation is completely voluntary.

In our 2024 DIVA Survey we opened up the survey to hear from our allies. We found that only 54% of trans people felt safe on social media. On top of that, out of the 2,000 participants, half of the respondents believe that LGBTQIA networks at work are male-dominated.

This year’s survey is in partnership with Kantar and The Curve Foundation. Kantar is the world’s leading marketing data and analytics business and an indispensable brand partner to the world’s top companies. The Curve Foundation champions LGBTQIA women and non-binary people’s culture and stories through intergenerational programming and community building.
