Already missing the hit reality competition show?

Would you be a traitor or a faithful? This January, it wouldn’t be surprising if most UK households were divided over the question. But regardless of whether you’d want to be rooting out the liars or “murdering” people in the night, we can all agree that The Traitors is a fabulous show.
As it ends tonight and we wait to see if faithful Leanne will go home to her fiancée with the cash prize, it’s only natural to wonder what to do with our evenings now that it’s over. Fear not! Here are four shows to watch if you loved The Traitors…
The Traitors US
Yes, we know suggesting a US remake to fans of a UK show is borderline sacrilegious, but stick with us on this one. It’s just as camp as the British version, more ruthless (if that’s even possible given how easily Charlotte threw Freddie under the bus) and does have a twist – some of the contestants are reality TV stars.
Big names in the LGBTQIA community took part this year, including Chrishell Stause and Bob The Drag Queen. If you fancy going back through previous seasons, Parvati Shallow and Peppermint have also competed.
Married At First Sight UK
MAFS UK and The Traitors may not be similar at first but when you break them down to their basic components, they’re near identical – a reality show, full of the kind of drama you get when you’re only allowed to see the same fifteen people every day, hinging on people being “faithful”.
We recommend you watch season seven, which saw Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson, the show’s first lesbian couple take part, or season eight, in which Ella Morgan was the show’s first trans bride.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars
A campy show full of feuds and backstabbing? Look no further! Sure, RuPaul’s Drag Race is great but for a show that is truly traitorous, the All Stars editions are number one. In several seasons, whichever queen won the episode could eliminate a fellow competitor and their reasons were often very similar to Traitors when they bump off a strong faithful, or the faithful when they finally banish a Traitor.
Strictly Come Dancing
Maybe you’re only in it for Claudia Winkleman. We don’t blame you. If so, stay on BBC iPlayer and catch up on past seasons of Strictly Come Dancing. The hit show sees celebrities learn ballroom and latin dances in a bid to win the Glitterball Trophy. It’s hosted by both Claudia and Tess Daley, both of whom bring an excellent energy to the show.
There have been plenty of sapphics on the show in the 20 years it’s been on the BBC. From 2020 to 2023, the show has also featured same-sex couples, including one with former DIVA cover stars Jayde Adams and Karen Hauer.
DIVA magazine celebrates 31 years in print in 2025. If you like what we do, then get behind LGBTQIA media and keep us going for another generation. Your support is invaluable.
