Hulu’s beautifully reimagined TV adaptation of Nick Hornby’s novel was released four years ago, and we miss it so much!

The series follows the gender-swapped main character Robyn Brooks’ and how she deals with her breakup with her boyfriend, Mac. Through Top 5 lists and her perfectly curated playlists, she retells stories of her past relationships and picks apart what went wrong with each of them.

Despite the success of the show, Hulu stopped production after only one series. Fans were heartbroken as it followed the story of a bisexual person of colour. Four years later, let’s see what the cast has been up to since!

Zoë Kravitz (Robyn Brooks)

High Fidelity was critically acclaimed after its release, but this is far from the only success that this actor has seen. After perfectly playing the bisexual Robyn, she most notably starred in the Oscar-nominated The Batman as Catwoman. She has also recently made her directorial debut with Blink Twice which is in cinemas now.

Jake Lacy (Clyde)

Robyn’s wholesome love interest is a fan favourite for their great on-screen chemistry. Since then, he has starred as Shane in the HBO miniseries The White Lotus which is the source of so many internet and pop culture references and as Troy in the new 2024 drama Apples Never Fall.

Thomas Doherty (Liam)

The hot musician becomes a new and exciting distraction for the heartbroken Rob – which doesn’t stop even when she finds out that he is only nineteen. These intense and interesting roles have stopped since. The Scottish actor has starred in the reboot of Gossip Girl as Max Wolfe and another perfectly soundtracked film called Dandelion.

David H. Holmes (Simon)

Playing as a friend and employee of Rob’s record shop, the actor later went on to star in the Gotham-set crime drama The Penguin. He will also be in the biopic about Bob Dylan, A Complete Unknown.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Cherise)

Randolph has been as successful in her career as she was hilarious in the show. She won her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the 2023 The Holdovers. She is also part of Pharrell Williams’s upcoming music film Atlantis which is a majority Black cast!

Ivanna Sakhno (Kat Munrow)

Rob’s second heartbreak story was Kat Munroe, played by Ukrainian actress Ivanna Sakhno. She already had credits in big hitters like The Spy Who Dumped Me, but has since entered the Star Wars universe as Shin Hati in Ahsoka.

Kingsley Ben-Adir (Mac)

Since playing the complicated ex, Ben-Adir has gone on to be nominated for a Rising Star BAFTA in 2021. He played Bob Marley in the 2024 musical film Bob Marley: One Love and is now preparing to star in a production of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof in London’s Almeida Theatre.

Rainbow Sun Francks (Cameron)

After playing Robyn’s older and irresponsible brother, the Canadian actor has continued to star in Netflix’s superhero show The Umbrella Academy and comedy film Suze.
