X Factor star Lucy Spraggan has shared that she and her fiancée Emilia Smith got married at the weekend. Lucy shared a post on Instagram on Monday of her singing her song Other Sides Of The Moon, captioned: “One minute I was playing this live on tour, the next minute we were walking down the aisle surrounded by all of the people we love. I am so, so happy.”
The couple haven’t shared many details about or photos of their big day, so let’s take a look back at their beautiful love story.
Lucy and Emilia had been friends for 10 years before they started dating in 2023, and got engaged in March this year. Announcing their engagement in a loved-up Instagram post, Lucy said: “I am so thankful that the universe gave me you, Emilia. I was immensely thankful when you were just my friend and I cannot begin to describe the gratitude I have to experience your love in a different way.”
It’s the perfect friends-to-lovers romance story!
Lucy also shared that she had asked Simon Cowell, who she developed a close friendship with after her appearance on The X Factor in 2012, to walk her down the aisle.
Lucy revealed in her memoir Process: Finding My Way Through, which was published last year, that she had been a victim of rape during her time on The X Factor, and also wrote about the lack of support from the production companies behind the show following her exit.
Lucy said that Simon was the first person to apologise for the situation and how it had been handled, and that the apology was part of her healing process. The couple’s engagement took place on a plane when Lucy and Emilia were flying to stay with Simon himself.
We can’t wait to see pictures of the couple’s wedding!
