The soccer star shared the heartwarming act of friendship she received from her NY Gotham team after her split from Ashlyn Harris

Last year the soccer stars Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris divorced after four years of marriage and the adoption of two children. It’s safe to say the split devastated everyone in the community. The past five months have been turbulent with cheating rumours which were ultimately squashed.
But on a more positive spin, Ali has opened up about how supportive her teammates have been through the whole process.
In a new interview with Self magazine, Ali opened up about being “on the field” when she got the news and was “obviously devastated”. After cancelling the rest of her day’s plans to go home, she was surprised by her NY Gotham teammates who came for a dance party.
“My entire team came over for a dance party the night the news broke,” Ali continued. “All of them at different times. Until two in the morning, we were there, just hanging out, putting music on YouTube.”
“They didn’t even think twice. I didn’t have to ask; they just showed up. They kept coming in – right after training, after their meetings, through 2 am. My kids were there, we were all there.”
Although still fresh, Ali told Self magazine: “I feel like the universe has sent me a gift, and I’m ready to take it.”

She carried on: “Through these past five months, my friends have shown up in ways that I will cherish and remember forever. They are my true people.”
While we may have lost an epic romance, we have gained a story of a strong female friendship. We wish Ali the best in her healing journey as she takes on the new year!
