Guy Fieri will not be officiating KStew and Dylan Meyer’s big day

Toward the end of 2021, actor Kristen Stewart broke the sapphic internet when it was announced that she and screenwriter Dylan Meyer were enGAYged. Ever since they hard launched their relationship in 2019, they’ve been hailed as #CoupleGoals within the WLW community.

Suffice it to say, we’ve all been eagerly waiting for more updates on their big day. Near the start of 2022, KStew opened up to Los Angeles Times about what marriage means to her and what type of wedding it will be, saying: “There was a time in my life where I was like, ‘No, I would never get married. Like married married, like put a dress on and walk down the aisle married. And by the way, I’m not doing that. That’s not going to be the type of wedding that I have. The fact that I’ve already said, ‘Hey, let’s get married’ and that we have rings and stuff … we’re kind of already done.”

She also addressed topics of timing and presentation: “The thing is, I always kind of blow presentation. I have all these big ideas, like I will get a friend a beautiful present that I’m so proud of. And I just think they’re going to love it. But instead of wrapping it up and like putting a bow on it and giving it to them at the right time, I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I have this thing and I know it’s like a week before your birthday, but just f— have it because I love it and I love you.’ And if I had just wrapped it and put this in their hands on the right day, the impact would have been greater. And so I’m probably going to do that with my wedding too. I’m probably going to look back and have to do it again … which would surprise absolutely no one who knows me.”

Kristen recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live, where she confirmed that Guy Fieri will not be officiating her wedding but could be there in spirit. (And we all know KStew has a thing for spirits, if her queer ghost hunting show is anything to go by). Guy would’ve been a good officiator, not only because she believes they have similar hair and he seems like a nice guy, but he also officiates a lot of LGBTQIA weddings.

The Academy Award winning actor and certified heartthrob went on to share that she’s bad at planning so the wedding is unlikely to have an official officiant.

So when exactly will she and Dylan exchange vows and tie the knot? Kristen doesn’t know but opened up about expecting that the lovebirds will simply “surprise themselves”. This probably means that they’ll likely wed each other randomly on a date, and on their own terms. And I for one love that for them. Although, I do hope we get to see some wedding photos when/if they feel like sharing them.
