Lesbians, we have been summoned. Rebel Wilson is releasing a tell-all memoir, and she’s just teased us with its contents. The Pitch Perfect star will release her new book Rebel Rising next year on 2 April (which is already too far away) but has given fans a taste of what’s to come.
“I’ve been writing the book for the past 18 months because when I write, I have to be totally by myself and isolated,” Rebel told PEOPLE magazine in a recent interview. “It’s just been this secret thing I’ve been doing by myself for 18 months. It’s so exciting now that it’s done.”
After coming out in 2022 with a snap of her and her girlfriend Ramona, Rebel has had a whirlwind ride the past few years. The pair welcomed the birth of their beautiful baby daughter. She got engaged to her girlfriend Ramona earlier this year. She’s currently filming her directorial debut The Deb.
In her interview with PEOPLE, Rebel describes how her first few chapters of her memoir were “really sh*t”, but she eventually got into the swing of things. “So what I started doing is I just sat there by myself as if I’m just telling the story to a friend,” she explained. “I just kind of found my writing style — as if I’m sitting opposite my friend, telling you all my life’s deepest secrets, which is a bit scary.”
Having been in the public eye for so long, Rebel’s new memoir will explore how she coped with everything Hollywood threw at her. Rebel Rising will go into topics like her fertility issues, weight gain and loss, sexuality, overcoming shyness, and rejection.
We can’t wait to read it!
