Although Pride season is over for this year, Manchester Pride are still waving that rainbow banner high by launching their new Impact Fund – a pioneering funding initiative created to support projects and organisations serving the LGBTQIA communities in Greater Manchester.

Manchester Pride are urging local organisations to apply for funding which could provide up to £10,000 per organisation. They are focused on supporting projects that are centred around the following areas: reducing HIV stigma, promoting LGBTQIA events, providing LGBTQIA mental health support, improving LGBTQIA sexual health awareness, and projects which enhance LGBTQIA wellbeing.

Mark Fletcher, CEO of Manchester Pride, said: “The launch of the Impact Fund marks a milestone in our ongoing efforts to foster diversity and inclusivity. We are committed to reaching organisations that have historically found it challenging to secure funding, thereby facilitating a greater impact in our community.”

To be eligible for funding organisations have to be either a UK-registered charity, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, a Community Interest Company or a social enterprise. Individuals, community benefit societies, local authorities or councils, schools, academics, universities, and animal rescue organisations are not eligible for funding.

All eligible organisations are being encouraged to apply before the deadline on Friday 22 December 2023. Applications are assessed by an independent community panel and decisions will be made in early 2024.
