The 17th annual Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival has officially opened its box office to the general public! Taking place between Tuesday 10 – Sunday 15 October in Cardiff, the Festival will be showcasing over 50 short films, 12 feature films, and will also feature talks from industry professionals.
At this year’s Festival, you will have the opportunity to see films such as Fawzia Mirza’s The Queen Of My Dreams which follows the story of Azra on her return back to Pakistan after the passing of her father. Other big titles include Janis Pugh’s Chuck, Chuck Baby and Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping’s hard-hitting feature Femme.
Berwyn Rowlands, Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival Director, said: “It is back to business for Iris this year, with a programme which we are immensely proud of. We opened our box office early for our marvellous gang of Iris Prize Members, but as of today (19 September), the tickets and passes are available to all to buy.”
Head over to the box office now to purchase your ticket! You can get everything from a full festival pass (£140), a day pass (£30), or you can go to watch a feature film for just £8. The Festival venues include Vue Cinema, USW Atrium Theatre, and Chapter Arts Centre. Need more persuading? There’s even going to be a late-night gig at Enby’s – Cardiff’s newest LGBTQIA hub!
In the words of Berwyn Rowlands: “If you have never come to Iris before, please make this year your first, and join for the very best of LGBTQ+ storytelling through film.”
