Happy Birthday Lili Reinhart! The Riverdale superstar is one of our favourite Virgo celebs and has been blessing us with glorious bisexual content since she came out in 2020. Here’s our look at five of our favourite moments to celebrate her on this day.

When she came out on Instagram

In 2020, Lili came out via Instagram saying: “Although I’ve never announced it publicly before, I am a proud bisexual woman.” She also shared a poster for an LGBTQIA #BlackLivesMatter protest in West Hollywood, urging fans to come along.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times after coming out, she went on to say that she first questioned her sexual identity in the fifth grade. “I thought: ‘Do I like girls? I don’t know,’” she said. “As I’ve gotten older, the answer has become ‘Yes. Clearly, I do.’ … I think I just felt at this point in time: Why not? If suddenly I started dating a girl publicly, I didn’t want people to be, like, what the …?”

Her love for Luz from The Owl House

Who doesn’t adore Disney’s first-ever bisexual character in The Owl House? Lili showed her love for Luz in an interview with the BBC. She said: “I think it’s important to make it more normal, as I feel in cinema and TV, the characters are usually gay or straight, there’s not a lot of bisexual characters – but it should be normalised.”

“There are a lot of bisexual people, including me. Before, I felt that people were going to invalidate what I was saying by telling me I was going through a phase.”

When she said that she’s never been “ashamed” of being bi

In an episode of the LGBTQ&A podcast, Lili opened up about her bisexuality and her coming out journey. “I guess, coming out is not a nonchalant thing,” she said in reference to her own coming out. “It just didn’t seem like a big deal to me. And it also, the way I look at the world right now, I’m like, ‘Isn’t everyone bisexual?’”

She further went on to say that she was grateful to have come out. “It’s not a secret. It’s not something that I was ever ashamed of. And I felt like, in that moment, I wanted to show my full support for this community,” she said. “And the fact that I belong to it, it was very freeing in that sense.”

When she stood up for bi rights on Twitter

In 2021, Lili shared a post by Matt Bernstein in which he wrote: “Perhaps the reason romantic + sexual relationships between women are fetishized or perceived as ‘a phase’ is because our culture struggles to understand a concept of love + sexuality that doesn’t involve men whatsoever.”

Lili responded to the first Tweet with a simple but effective: “AMEN. I am BI AND PROUD.”

She then went on to add her own comments on the topic, tweeting: “It’s all too common for men to bully their bi/pan girlfriends. They can accept when a woman wants another man, but they can’t respect when a woman wants another woman.”

Her portrayal of Betty’s bisexuality in Riverdale

As Netflix’s Riverdale came to a close this year, fans everywhere were waiting to see the big reveal that had been teased for years: Is Betty bi? In the finale, the episode showed an 86-year-old Betty reading the obituaries of her fellow friends. It was revealed that Betty spent a year in a “quad” relationship with Veronica, Archie, and Jughead.

“It started innocently enough with the four of us going on double dates – me and Archie, Jughead and Veronica. And then it kind of naturally evolved from there,” Betty admitted. “Some nights Archie would sneak into my bedroom and Veronica would go home with Jughead. Other nights, Archie would spend the night at The Pembrooke, and I’d go over to Jughead’s. And sometimes, more often than you’d imagine, I would find my way to Veronica’s.”

Brb, our queer hearts are screaming right now!
