Looking for something to do this month? Check out The Playground Theatre who will be putting on two plays about sapphic forbidden love between 14-30 September!
Check out Rena Brannan’s play Artefact which is set in 1965 and follows the life of Betty Ford after she finds an unopened letter from her old college roommate Julia confessing her love. Rena’s play is starring none other than her wife Sophie Ward, known for her roles in Young Sherlock Holmes (1985), Book of Blood (2009) and Jane Eyre (2011). Alongside Sophie will be actress Sarah Lawrie.
Also showing at The Playground Theatre is Tennessee Williams’ play Something Unspoken. Set in 1950s Mississippi, Something Unspoken follows the “companionship” (wink wink, nudge nudge) between Cornelia Scott and her secretary Grace. This adaptation stars Amanda Waggott and Sarah Lawrie.
So, what are you waiting for? Book your tickets here to see this double bill all about sapphic longing, desire, and love.
