From Ashley Benson to Sarah Paulson, join us in nosing at these house tours

I don’t know about you, but I love to live vicariously through nosing about on Architectural Digest’s (AD) Open Door YouTube series where I can get lost in the lavish celebrity house tours. There’s only so much I can do to my rented flat to make it feel like home, and so I like to watch these and daydream about what I would do if I were to ever reach the near-impossible feat of becoming a home owner.
The LGBTQIA community are often credited for having a flair for interior design, so maybe it’s not a surprise that some of my favourite Open Door instalments feature the homes of some awesome queer celebs. So without further ado, let’s virtually knock on their doors and take a peek inside…
Ashley Benson
The Pretty Little Liars star is the most recent celeb to be featured in this series. And last week the actor opened her door to AD’s subscribers and gave us a tour of her Los Angeles home. And yes, I am OBSESSED with her guest room turned walk-in closet.
Sarah Paulson
DIVA favourite Sarah Paulson took viewers on a tour of her Malibu getaway home. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one swooning when she gave a shout out to her partner Holland Taylor for gifting her a piece of art which she calls one of her prized possessions. Hey AD, please can we get a your of Sarah/Holland’s home next?
Cara Delevingne
The pansexual actor and model’s home is SUPER fantastical, fun and queer. I can only imagine how healing it must be for the star’s inner child. And without a doubt, my favourite feature is the “Vagina Tunnel”. Yep, you read that correctly. If I ever become super rich, I will definitely instal a vulva-shaped passageway to get from room to room.
Demi Lovato
Musician and actor Demi Lovato’s Californian farmhouse is whimsical and super creative. You can tell how much appreciation Demi has for art. With each room having a unique look and feel, I can imagine the amount of time guests must take looking at all the intricate details.
Rita Ora
The bisexual pop star took AD viewers on a tour of her London home and it definitely earned being called a sanctuary. This is perfect viewers for history lovers as Rita kept a lot of the original elements of the Victorian-Era property. And oh, the thing I would do to sprawl out on a picnic blanket in her picturesque garden and get lost in a good book.
RuPaul
RuPaul’s AD house tour is just as unhinged and chaotic as you would hope and it’s easily one of the most memorable ones from the series. His eccentric home comes with a disco room (because, of course!), a $10,000 French stove and a “meditation cage”. This is essential viewing for fans of Drag Race.
Neil Patrick Harris
Actor Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, David Burtka are couple goals as they take AD viewers on a tour through their home. Not only will it make subscribers want to live in their home, it will make them want to find someone who looks at them the way these two lovebirds look at each other.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson
And, speaking of power couples… Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his Tony Award-winning husband Justin Mikita welcome AD into their New York City home. This is their second AD tour, their first being of their LA home. Both videos show off their impeccable taste.
