From Gillian Anderson to a sapphic snog, we’re ready for the fourth instalment in the Netflix series

“I learnt everything I know about sex from my mum.” Otis, sweetie, I don’t think that’s quite how I would put it.

Everyone’s favourite sex therapist is coming back to our screens on 21 September. And by that we mean Gillian Anderson as Dr Jean Milburn. Sorry Otis. Netflix has unfortunately confirmed that this will be the final season of Sex Education, but it already looks like it’s set to be a big one.

The show has seen fantastic inclusion of queer storylines throughout its previous three seasons featuring lesbian couples, asexual characters, and more recently a non-binary storyline played by Dua Saleh. So it’s no surprise that within the first 24 seconds of the teaser trailer, we get a gloriously sapphic snog!

Another highlight of the teaser was of course the small glimpse of Gillian Anderson that featured. After admitting last month that she is very much aware that she has been everyone’s gay awakening, we cannot wait to see Dr Jean Milburn back on our screens with her fabulous wardrobe.

It’s also been confirmed that Dua Saleh will be returning for season four of the show playing the non-binary character Cal Bowman. Season three saw high school jock Jackson Marchetti (Kedar Williams-Stirling) develop romantic feelings for Cal, but the pair eventually decided to not pursue anything. Maybe there’s another shot at romance in season four?

We’re very excited to meet the new batch of characters and see some more gorgeous gay storylines!
