Yesterday’s celebrations were truly unforgettable!

Team DIVA were overjoyed to take part in the in the parade yesterday (2 July) as part of Pride In London. The festivities were truly unforgettable and the day with plenty to celebrate. Whilst we have come so far in the last 50 years since the first UK Pride, we were reminded of why Pride must continue to be a protest. A young attendee encountered bigoted anti-LGBTQI protestors at the event, but in a joyous show of defiance, the cast of Heartstopper helped the young attendee and danced around flipping off and blowing kisses to the haters.
Emeli Sandé’s performance at the event was truly magical. As Emeli prepared to start singing her much-loved song, Read All About It, she invited Dawn Butler Brent, Linda Riley and many other wonderful faces onto the stage as her backing dancers. It was a beautiful moment of solidarity, pride and community as the huge crowd sung their hearts out to the powerful lyrics.
Saturday was a truly unforgettable day and filled with so many special moments. Here are just some of the wonderful people Team DIVA got to connect and celebrate with.
