This adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel is an exploration of emotional depth and psychological insight within the context of a thrilling story of secrets, loss and revenge

DIVA Awards 2022 host, Sophie Ward, will play Marina Gregg in the new production of Rachel Wagstaff’s adaptation of Agatha Christie’s The Mirror Crack’d. She will be joining the cast alongside Joe McFadden, as Jason Rudd and Susie Blake, as Miss Marple on the show’s UK tour, commencing in Eastbourne on 8 September 2022. 

The Mirror Crack’d is set in 1960s England in the sleepy village of St Mary’s Mead. The villagers are alarmed and intrigued by a new housing estate, but even more so unsettled by the rich American film star residing in the manor house. Jane Marple is confined to a chair after an accident and wonders if life has passed her by, until a shocking murder takes place, leaving her to unravel a web of lies, danger and tragedy. This adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel is an exploration of emotional depth and psychological insight within the context of a thrilling story of secrets, loss and revenge. 

The star-studded cast have graced both stage and screen in a variety of roles, virtually guaranteeing the success of this iconic rendition. Susie Blake is best known for playing the Continuity Announcer in Victoria Wood: As Seen On TV, as well as her regular roles of Bev Unwin in ITV’s Coronation Street and Hillary Nicholson in BBC’s Mrs Brown’s Boys. She has also starred in a variety of other TV shows, films and theatre, including Wicked and My Fair Lady.  

Joe McFadden has landed roles in many popular TV shows including Holby City, Casualty and Heartbeat as well as having many successes in theatre including, but not limited to, roles in Rent and Priscilla-Queen Of The Desert. 

Sophie Ward has most recently been seen in the BBC‘s A Very British Scandal, BBC/HBO Max’s Troubled Blood and This Sceptred Isle. For the past four years, Sophie has hosted the European Diversity Awards, works closely alongside Stonewall and even hosted our very own DIVA Awards 2022

The Mirror Crack’d will be directed by Philip Franks and designed by Adrian Linford, with lighting design by Emma Chapman, sound design by Max Pappenheim, and casting by Ellie Collyer-Bristow. The UK Tour will be produced by Alastair Whatley and Tom Hackney for The Original Theatre Company. 

So far, the tour will cover 10 different UK locations over three months, with more dates and locations to be added soon. Tickets are on sale now, so why wait to take advantage of this incredible plot and cast!
