Here’s how you can donate and help Ukraine’s queer community today

Queer website PinkNews has announced the launch of a brand new GoFundMe campaign to help LGBTQI refugees from Ukraine.

LGBTQ+ Refugees Welcome aims to raise vital funds to help members of our community affected by the current Ukraine crisis.

In a post on Twitter, PinkNews stated:

“Today we launch our LGBTQ+ Refugees Welcome campaign via @GoFundMe.

We may never know how many millions of LGBTQ+ people are affected by the crisis in Ukraine and beyond.

But we know for a fact our community cannot rely on traditional means for the help it needs to survive.

We’re asking you, our readers and the PinkNews community, to give what you can.”

Donations will benefit two brilliant charities, Give Out and Micro Rainbow. The money raised will go towards essentials, like providing queer refugees with water, food, transportation, shelter and medication like HIV medicine and hormone treatment.

As PinkNews says, “Please join us today by donating, sharing this fundraiser with everyone you know, and saying proudly: LGBTQ+ refugees are welcome.”
