Athletes Amazin LeThi and Charlie Martin discuss the importance of allyship and inclusion in sport

It’s been a great year for queer representation in sport with a record number of out LGBTQI athletes participating in The Olympics. It has also been a fantastic year for allyship with Lewis Hamilton wearing the progress pride flag at the inaugural Qatar Grand Prix. This year, Stonewall launched it’s sixth Rainbow Laces campaign which we have previously covered here.

To celebrate Rainbow Laces Day this year, we invited Amazin LeThi to host a live on our Instagram with fellow Stonewall sports champion ambassador Charlie Martin.

Throughout the live the pair discuss a range of important topics from how they processed the last two years, what allyship looks like within the world of sport and the potency of being able to see people who have come before you, “You can’t be, what you don’t see.”

For anyone who missed this conversation, don’t worry you can view it down below at your own convenience:

DIVA magazine celebrates 27 years in print in 2021. If you like what we do, then get behind LGBTQI media and keep us going for another generation. Your support is invaluable.
