We’re so excited to have our favourite celesbian power couple hosting this year’s virtual awards ceremony 😍

One of the most hotly anticipated events in the lesbian calendar, the annual DIVA Awards are a no-holds-barred celebration of the achievements of gay, bisexual and trans women – and their allies – across business, the media, politics and sport. Who better to host this star-studded event then, than celesbian super couple Adele Roberts and Kate Holderness?
You might know Adele Roberts from her career as a radio host, most famously for BBC Radio 1, or you might have grown to love her during her time in the I’m A Celeb jungle in 2019. Adele’s partner, actor Kate Holderness has had roles in the likes of Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks throughout her acting career. Adele and Kate are big cooking fans and together host their own food show on their YouTube channel, Friday Night Fakeaway, so their no stranger to hosting as a team. As well as our fantastic hosts, there will be a whole line-up of LGBTQI to entertain us on the evening, including the vocal powerhouse and our February cover star Heather Small.
Commenting on the news that they will be hosting the 2021 DIVA Awards, Adele and Kate said: “We are so honoured to be hosting the awards this year and can’t wait to celebrate the amazing individuals and groups doing incredible things for our LGBTQI community! It’s been such a tough time for a lot of people in our community, especially those who feel isolated, and we’re so grateful to DIVA for the support they’ve been providing since last year, keeping us all connected through online groups, virtual events and positivity! We hope everyone will come and join us on the night to raise a glass to our wonderful winners and nominees!”
This inaugural awards ceremony taking place 29 April will play a huge role in the Lesbian Visibility Week programme for 2021 and is spearheaded by DIVA Media Group. After postponing last year’s event due to the national UK lockdown, this year’s online celebration is set to be bigger and better than ever, even if we can’t celebrate together in person.
A series of major awards are up for grabs this year including Actor of the Year, Musician of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year and the coveted accolade of the DIVA Choice Award.
Previous winners include Dodie Clark, Sandi Toksvig, Suranne Jones and Michelle Hardwick.
